There is a commitment to providing any trainee who has been out of training for longer than 3 months with increased support on their return to training. More information on the process and the support available can be found on the HEE Wessex website. Included in this package of support is the access to simulation training to ease the transition back to clinical practice. There are courses available in critical skills for anaesthetics, Human factors in surgery, medical core procedures and there is a sim afternoon in the generic RTT day. Due to poor uptake of courses only the generic RTT day runs regularly. Most of the courses will run with a crèche to enable those with young children to attend and are entirely free of charge to the trainees.
